The search for the ultimate band is about to begin!
Canada has forever impacted the international music scene with classic rock bands like The Guess Who, B.T.O., The Band, Triumph and Rush, just to name a few. Their brand of rock music is legendary.
Today, bands like The Tragically Hip, Nickelback and Our Lady Peace are transforming the Canadian music scene - taking rock to new heights with their undeniably hot style and sound.
But tomorrow's rock stars are just waiting to be discovered, so… we're hopping on a bus - taking the whole country along - as we set out on a cross-country televised road trip looking for the ultimate band.
The Televised Production
Our Canadian Rock Stars production will go on the road for 5 weeks, where we will spend approximately 4 days in each city. Before the bands battle it out, our hosts will conduct interviews with the band members and meet their friends and family as we look to profile each band. In addition, the chosen bands will meet with local and national press!
Portions of the show will also be devoted to a documentary style snapshot of our rock icon and celebrity judges. An intimate glimpse into their world as rock legends and a summary of their music careers and the influence they've had on the Canadian music industry will be featured in these segments.
Audience and Venues
The bands will compete before a live audience within each city's popular concert venues. Admission will be free! As well, delegated radio stations will give away passes & be involved in the nationally publicized rock star search.
